AIM Buddy List OOB

The AIM Buddy List out of Banner ad is a 234x60 pixel ad unit from which creative will emanate from the banner of the buddy list, and resolve back into the banner after 5-8 seconds. AIM Buddy List ad refreshes every 45 seconds; ad impressions reflect active users only, i.e. ads do not rotate in the following instances:

  1. When the Buddy List is minimized
  2. When the user is off line
  3. When the user is idle for two (2) minutes
  4. When the mouse pointer is over the ad on the Buddy List
  5. When any of the following points are covered: Pixel at each corner, Center pixel, Pixel at center of each side, & upon user-initiated minimization of the Buddy List which will remove 25 pixels from the right side of the ad leaving only 199x60 pixels of the ad unit visible.

Pixel Size The Out of Banner creative will appear to emanate from the banner in the buddy list. The creative cannot extend beyond 200 pixels from the edge of the buddy list.  The Out of Banner creative will appear to emanate from the banner in the Buddy List. The creative cannot extend beyond 300x250 pixels adjacent to the 234x60 ad unit.

The AIM 7 client allows users to re-size the Buddy List to appear narrow. This functionality hides a small portion of the right side of the banner from view, leaving a visible area of 199x60 pixels.

As a result, do not place any features of functionality (pause/play/audio controls, scroll bars, etc.) in an area that may be hidden if the Buddy List is narrowed by the user.
